Tonight we focused on patient removal. Making sure that the neck and spine don't move is extremely important. As you see the patients wear a cervical collar to keep the neck straight. To remove the patient from the vehicle we sometimes use a device called a 'Ked Extrication Device'. This is a board with several straps to ensure that the back and head stay straight during patient removal.
