Tonight we practiced a vehicle extrication scenario. This scenario consisted of a three vehicle MVC with two patients, possibly more. As you see did our Training Officers create a challenging scenario with vehicles on top of each other. One of the patients was in the bottom car. Vehicle stabilization is very important, especially in cases like this. The vehicles must all remain in place during extrication. A Kodiak Bar is a very helpful tool to achieve this. This is a telescopic bar which can be placed to support a vehicle. the strap at the bottom of the bar has to be connected to the vehicle as well so that a very strong triangular support is created.
